Internal security factors in Europe Derived from my general theoretical model of security, this paper focuses on the internal security of the European Union and analyzes threats stemming from the existence and functioning of the European Union. The quality, selection and formation of elites, including the formation of the Brussels class with its own class interests belong to those threats. The consequence is, among other things, a threat to the sovereignty of national states and the existence of the European Union itself and the erosion of social cohesion at t he level of European citizens and higher social entities, including individual states. The tendency of the European apparatus to suppress pluralism of opinion and freedom of speech and to institutionalize these tendencies towards censorship is another danger.
