The lectures analyse the character and specifics of modern civil society through the model of transforming French society at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The focus is on European civilization and culture, which has responded to the trends emerging in France during the Enlightenment, the Revolution, Napoleon's government, and in Europe, following the conclusions of the Vienna Congress.
