Obsahem prezentace je nastínit problematiku absence klinické nomenklatury v mezinárodním kontextu. Na konkrétních ukázkách z nově vznikající databáze autentických klinických diagnóz z chirurgických klinik v České republice je demonstrována základní jazyková charakteristika čistě latinského zápisu klinických diagnóz a jeho výhod (včetně aspektu psychologického, sociologického, etického a právního).

The aim of the presentation is to outline the issue of absent clinical nomenclature in the international context. The source for the research was a database of authentic surgical diagnoses (provided by teaching hospitals in the Czech Republic). The analysis of this database has proved the main advantages of the use of Latin in recording clinical diagnoses from linguistic, psychological, sociological and ethical points of view.
