The development of digital technologies in recent decades has brought revolutionary changes to almost all areas of human life. Rapid developments in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, specifically language models, are now resonating significantly in the professional community and the general public. These models represent the most significant breakthrough in digital technologies in recent years. AI-powered language models are innovative technologies that enable us to analyze vast amounts of data, create complex algorithms, and most importantly, communicate with computers as if we were communicating with humans. Language models enable the analysis and generation of text and images just as humans would do. As a result, language models have the potential to change the way we learn and teach. Students at all levels of school around the world are beginning to rely on these tools to write term papers, research information, or write tests and take exams. These technologies offer efficient and fast solutions for a wide range of tasks that were previously time-consuming and required a range of specific/expert competencies. However, hand in hand with this development, new issues and challenges are emerging, such as the ethical aspects of using AI, the availability of these technologies, data security... This paper focuses on exploring these questions and provides a comprehensive view of university students' perceptions and experiences of using AI-enabled language models in their learning/education and work. The aim of the survey was to gain a holistic view of how often and how students use these technologies, what motivates them to do so, how they evaluate the accuracy and reliability of language models, and what the impact of the technology is on their learning and educational outcomes. To achieve this aim, a quantitative research survey was conducted involving 65 respondents from full-time university students. The results show that these technologies are widely accepted by students and have a positive impact on their learning and educational outcomes.
