Příspěvek se zabývá etymologií vybraných názvů označujících lidské emoce ve slovanských jazycích. Primárním cílem bylo zjistit motivaci daných slov v diachronním aspektu a následně porovnat případy napříč slovanskými jazyky, kde se motivace liší. Primární motivace v tomto textu je chápána jako taková, která může nést dodatečnou informaci o samotném pojmu. Jako reprezentativní byly vybrány především názvy označující základní lidské emoce: 'radost', 'štěstí', 'smutek', 'strach', 'hněv' a 'údiv'; dodatečně bylo zařazeno slovo pro odvozenou emoci 'láska'. Bylo zjištěno, že původní motivace daných názvů byla s největší pravděpodobnosti založená na určitých vlastnostech označovaných pojmů. Z technických důvodů tato stať obsahuje také erratum, které se vztahuje na seznam literatury a je dostupné na webových stránkách sborníku Slavica Iuvenum 2023: doi.org/10.15452/SlavicaIuvenum.XXIV.09.01

The paper deals with the etymology of selected names denoting human emotions in Slavic languages. The primary goal is to ascertain the motivation behind the chosen words from a diachronic perspective, followed by a comparison across Slavic languages in cases where the motivation differs. The primary motivation in this text is treated as one that can provide additional information about the concept itself. The names denoting basic human emotions include 'joy', 'happiness', 'sadness', 'fear', 'anger', and 'surprise'; additionally, the word for the secondary emotion 'love' is included. It was found that the original motivation behind these terms should be based on specific characteristics of the emotions they denote.
