Při volbě vyučovacích metod hrají velkou roli schopnosti, vstupní znalosti, dovednosti, dané nejen věkem ale i zkušenostmi všech účastníků vyučovacího procesu, tedy pedagoga i studentů. Cílem je vždy co nejlépe naučit studenty požadované učivo. Na Vyšší odborné škole MILLS v Čelákovicích se ale snažíme nejen studenty naučit, ale rozvíjet jejich schopnosti (se zaměřením na vybrané kognitivní funkce) související s kompetencemi v jejich budoucím povolání. Tedy volbu vyučovacích metod volíme podle zaměření studovaného oboru, respektive jakým způsobem bude student naučené informace v praxi používat, zda se musí učit více nazpaměť nebo raději hledat logické souvislosti mezi získanými poznatky.

Above all, abilities, initial knowledge, skills acquired not only with age but also by the experience of all participants in the teaching process, ie the teacher and the students, play a large role in the choice of teaching methods. Our aim is always to best teach students the required curriculum. At the MILLS College in Čelákovice, however, we are trying not only to teach students, but to develop their skills (focusing on selected cognitive functions) related to competences in their future careers. Thus, the choice of teaching methods we choose accordingly to the focus of the studied field, or how the student will use the learned information in practice, whether they have to learn more by heart or rather look for logical connections between the acquired knowledge.
