Drogová závislost je jedním z nejproblematičtějších fenoménů současnosti. Za poslední léta došlo ke snížení věkového průměru uživatelů drog. V někteých socidlních skupinách se droga stává přijatelnou normou. Tento jev nelze vnímat izolovaně. Na etiologii abúzu drog se podílejí biologické, psychologické, rodinné a sociálně-kulturni faktory. Vzhledem k diferenciaci a dynamice vyvoje drogové závislosti jednoznačnost odpovědí na otazku, proč jedinec onemocněl, je téměř nemožná. Proměnné, které ovlivnili vznik drogové závislosti je zapotřebí vzít v potaz a to nejen v rámci nápravného, ale také profylaktického působení.

Drug addiction is one of the ntost problematic phenomena of the present. Over the past few years, the average age of drug users has been decreasing. In some social groups, the drug becomes an acceptable standard. This phenomenon can not be perceived in isolation. Biological, psychological, family and socio-cultural factors contribute to the etiologt of drug abuse. Due to the differentiation and dynamics of the development of drug addiction, the uniqueness of the answers to the question - why the individuat is itl is almost impossible. The variables that have influenced drug dependence need to be taken into account not only in corrective but also in prophylactic action.
