Abstract
Employee evaluation is without question among the basic tasks of human resource (HR) management. This task has proven to be essential in recent years and is a principal responsibility of each employer and his/her management. The evaluation itself serves to summarise and document the performance of an employee in the period when work was being done. It is a management tool as well as a motivation and stimulus for the development of each employee. It also serves as a means of reciprocal communication among managers and individual employees. The aim of the article below is to review the methods of evaluation, taking into account industrial legislation of selected issues in the Czech body of law.
