The publication provides a basic overview in the area of tourism industry. Its individual chapters introduce basic terms of the field, history and milestones of tourism development, main types of tourism such as cultural, low-impact, dark, health, culinary and congress tourism and provide an overview of their most typical destinations. Attention is also paid to possible careers in tourism, characteristics of different types of tourist attractions and various types of transport. The final part of the publication is devoted to the basic issues of management, marketing, destination management and marketing, promotion and human relations and their specific questions within tourism industry.
