La Fiancée américaine d’Éric Dupont (2012) se présente comme une saga familiale des Berg/Lamontagne dont les héros, a la recherche de leurs origines et secrets familiaux, traversent l’histoire nord-américaine et européenne du 20e siecle. La cuisine, les recettes, les repas, voire l’industrie gastronomique constituent un important filon thématique du roman. Loin de se limiter a la fonction illustrative des différents milieux, la nourriture forme un contrepoint individualiste a la nécessité historique : le corps et la nourriture s’opposent a l’Histoire et ses aléas apocalyptiques, fournissent un espace a l’épanouissement, a l’action. Sur le plan symbolique, la nourriture complete le filon thématique de l’art - musique et peinture – en s’insérant dans l’axiologie eschatologique de la damnation et du rachat.

La Fiancée américaine Erica Duponta (2012) je sága rodu Berg/Lamontagne, jejíž hrdinové při odkrývání svého původu a rodinného tajemství procházejí severoamerickou a evropskou historií 20. století. Vaření, recepty, jídlo a dokonce i gastronomický průmysl představují důležité téma románu. Sociologicko-alimentární tematika není zdaleka omezena na ilustrační funkci různých prostředí, neboť jídlo tvoří individualistický kontrapunkt k historické nutnosti: tělo a jídlo jsou postaveny proti historii a jejím apokalyptickým hrozbám, poskytují prostor pro osobní rozvoj a aktivity. Na symbolické úrovni potraviny doplňují tématickou linii umění - hudbu a malbu - a vpisují se do eschatologické axiologie zatracení a vykoupení.

La Fiancée américaine by Eric Dupont (2012) is a saga of the Berg/Lamontagne family whose heroes, in search of their origins and family secrets, cross the 20th century North American and European history. Cooking, recipes, meals, and even the gastronomic industry constitute an important theme of the novel. Far from being limited to the illustrative function of the different environments, food forms an individualist counterpoint to the historical necessity: the body and the food are opposed to History and its apocalyptic hazards, they provide a space for the development of the plot. On the symbolic level, food complements the theme of art - music and painting. Both of them have a common issue in the eschatological axiology of damnation and redemption.
