Abstract
Abstract (in English)
Alzheimer's disease is one of the chronic diseases that fundamentally alters the life of the patient, but also his close-hearted. This disease represents approximately 50% of all dementias, this number is constantly increasing and the number of caregivers increases. Dementia always alters social roles and relationships in the family, and so is Alzheimer's disease. The burden lies not only in activities related to the gradual loss of self-care of the patient, but also in accepting a person's personality change. For carers, this role often takes 24 hours a day, and not everyone is able to handle this burden in the long term. The most common leak is the placement of the patient into the residential facility. But Holmer reports that up to 75% of Alzheimer's patients are in the care of the family.
