Nezbytnou součástí dlouhodobé abstinence je přijetí závislosti na alkoholu pacientem jako vážné duševní poruchy a jeho pravidelná spolupráce při léčbě. Povědomí o pacientově postoji k nemoci je jednou ze základních informací nutných pro naplánování vhodné individualizované péče. Hodnotit, jak vnímají nemoc pacienti, je problematické, neboť jde o subjek - tivní prožitek jedince. Jedním z možných nástrojů hodnocení je dotazník Revised – Illness Perception Questionnaire (IPQ-R-CZ).

Acceptance of dependence as a serious mental ilness and regular cooperation in treatment in as essential part of long-term abstinence. One of the basic information necessary for planning appropriate individual care is knowledge about patient‘s attitude towards their illness. Assessment of perception of the illness is problematic, because it is based on s a subjective personal experience. Revised – Illness Perception Questionnaire (IPQ-R-CZ) is one of the eligible assessment methods.
