Předmětem této práce je vývoj právního institutu státního občanství na území českých zemí od jeho založení (l8ll) až po současnost (2016), zejména pak vývoj jeho materiálních pramenů a měnící se materiální základny v kontextu probíhajících společenských a politických změn a dlouhodobého společenského vývoje. Samozřejmě s odrazem všech těchto změn také v pozitivním právu. Součástí práce je proto také komplexní a přehledný popis vývoje právní úpravy statního občanství na území českých zemí ve vymezeném období. Práce upozorňuje na všechny zlomové změny, revize v pojetí institutu či zavádění nových instrumentů.

This work deals with the development of the legal institute of state citizenship on the territory of the Czech lands from its establishment (1811) up to the present day (2016), wíth an emphasis on the development of its material sources and variable material background in connection with the on 0ing social and political changes and long-term social development, natu;'lly with the reflection of all such changes in positive law. Therefore the work also includes a comprehensive and dearly arranged description of the development of state citizenship in the territory of the Czech lands in the defined period. The work points out all the breakthrough changes, revisions of the concepts af the institute or introduction af new instrmnents.
