Příspěvek pojednává o některých institutech, které mohou být využívány v rámci dokazování trestné činnosti terorismu. V současné době je terorismus světovou bezpečnostní hrozbou, přičemž vyšetřování a dokazování terorismu je s ohledem na charakter této činnosti značně složité. Některé státy proto zavedly do svých právních řádů instituty, které mají těmto orgánům pomoci. Snad jedním z nejvíce diskutovaných zákonů je v této oblasti zákon USA označovaný jako PATRIOT ACT. Tento zákon je hlavním tématem tohoto příspěvku – představeny jsou základní instituty a nechybí ani srovnání s úpravou v ČR.

The paper deals with some institutes that can be used in investigation of crime of terrorism. Investigation of terrorism is more difficult as the terrorist threat is becoming more diffuse and harder to detect. Some adopted legislation introduced new specific institutes for the purpose of simplifying investigation of terrorism – especially the USA or the UK. The discussed PATRIOT ACT legalized institutes like Roving wiretaps or Delayed Notice Warrant, both of them quite controversial. The paper introduces these instruments and compares them with the Czech ones.
