Pohled na literaturu pro děti a mládež s tematikou handicapu přináší zajímavá zjištění jak z literárněhistorické, tak ze sociologizující imagologické perspektivy. Způsob, jímž je handicap zobrazován, totiž vypovídá mnohé o tom, jak společnost k handicapovaným přistupuje a jaké hodnotové vzory v intencionální literatuře předkládá dětem. Česká literatura pro děti a mládež v první polovině 20. století zobrazuje handicapované postavy především jako subjekty nárokující si čtenářův soucit a účast s jejich osudem. Autorka analyzuje podobu handicapovaných protagonistů.
In English
Researching literature for children and youth with the topic of handicap brings interesting findings from both literary-historical and sociological-imagological perspectives because the way of the literary depiction of handicap tells a lot about how the society treats the handicapped and what value models it presents to children. The Czech literature for children and youth in the first half ot the 20th century depicts the handicapped characters as persons demanding the readers sympathy for their lot. The autor analyses the depictioj of handicapped protagonists.
