Abstract
In the original language
Eukaryotic sexual life cycle consists of alternating haploid and diploid phases. The diploid-to-haploid transition is marked by meiosis, a remarkable cellular process that generates haploid cells from diploid precursors. The execution of the meiotic program requires precise regulation of gene expression to ensure accurate chromosomal segregation and gamete formation. While transcriptional regulation plays a critical role at the onset of meiosis, post-transcriptional mechanisms have emerged as key modulators of gene expression throughout meiotic progression. In my presentation I will discuss the critical role of cytoplasmic ribonucleoprotein granules in coordinating gene expression during meiosis and in the cell-fate transition to postmeiotic germline development in Arabidopsis.
